Don't give up the day job

At some point I would love to be a full time artist rather than struggling to fit in creative time and learning around my day job. But my day job actually gives me inspiration and ideas which fuel my art - so to give that up would be a loss. Not to mention the source of income which funds the art. I realise that I am very lucky to work in one of the most beautiful and iconic places in the world - a place that is different every day and always stuns me with its beauty. But then artists can see beauty in anything, through observation and imagination, so even a job which you might think of as lacking in inspiration (I've had a few) can provide some kind of stimulation to create. So I'm not ready to jump yet and instead choose a slow and steady climb towards a sustainable art practice.
