Taking it outside.

I'm not a fan of plein air painting but my friends at Maze Art create some awesome work this way. They are relaxed and at home out in nature with the world wandering by. Comments from bystanders thrown in. Me, I like to observe, photograph, process and then paint. As a more abstract artist my compositions are always inspired by reality but the final outcome doesn't necessarily need to reveal what that was. I have a thing about painting (mixed media) my money plants - all shapes and sizes and a multitude of random pots. For me these works are always the most satisfying because there's an emotional and familiar attachment - and I get to observe in the peace of my own home, where any passers by with unhelpful comments can be dealt with accordingly.
