That Creative Urge

It's not even 5 am and it's dark outside. And I'm lying here with this persistent urge to get creative. For some reason I want to grab some pastels and play. Then I remember that I'm in the midst of a house move and realise that I've taken all of my canvasses, papers and journals to the new place and kept the paints, pastels and everything else here. No paper. So I grab a piece of decent white card from the recycling and get going with the pastels. Nothing worthy of a frame but an immense feeling of relief and satisfaction. It's now 5.33am and I want to do more but that first undeniable urge has gone. Perhaps it's time for a coffee.
