Not only is this fun to do but it might help inspire or unblock your art. Our incredible art tutor Claire once sent us foraging for wild flowers and leaves - and then suggested we colour match the items using only the three primes and a bit of white. So I repeated this today on the stunning south west coast path near Tintagel - it's early August so the colours are diverse with bloom and decay. On my return, after a good breakfast (over 2 miles walked), I selected some light primary acrylics and here's the palette. I'll now dip into this for some abstract inspiration. I won't use every shade, just select a few that go together - to be honest I would never have thought up this palette but I'm putting my trust in nature. Have a go - every hedgerow offers an large array of colour on any given day.
