If you've been bitten by the cyanotype bug then you'll be jumping around with excitement at the recent hot weather. Yesterday was the day. Bright, uninterrupted sunshine and a bag of cyanotype paper I'd prepared in hope and anticipation a few days ago. A long walk along the cliffs to forage for interesting items to print and I was ready. And the great bonus about this process is that while your artwork is developing in the sun you can just enjoy a coffee, sketch your cat or read a book. The final outcomes are often surprising and create artworks on their own - I incorporate them into collages and my paintings for added interest and texture. Now if you've never heard of cyanotype it's a very satisfying and addictive process of using sun-reactive chemicals to 'print'. We're running a course later this year - you can contact us here on our website to register interest.
